Abhyanga

60 minutes

“Oil massage” — a full-body synchronised massage with warm medicated oil, worked along the tissue in long strokes. For fatigue, stress, stiffness and the restlessness of a vata imbalance.

“Shiro” head, “dhara” flow — a continuous stream of warm medicated oil poured across the forehead, which settles the stress response. For anxiety, insomnia, migraine and mental fatigue.

“Nasya” nasal — medicated oil instilled through the nose by the physician, treating the passages above the collarbone. For chronic sinusitis, migraine and cervical stiffness. The oil and dose are chosen for you, which is why it is not a walk-in therapy.

“Ela” leaf, “kizhi” bundle — warm fresh herbal leaves tied into a poultice and worked over the body. For musculoskeletal pain, arthritis and sports injuries.

Two ways in, one physician

The restorative therapies above can be booked directly — we screen for contraindications with a short intake form. The clinical therapies are prescribed, because the oil, the sequence and the number of sessions have to be chosen for your constitution and your complaint. That gate is not bureaucracy; it is the difference between a spa treatment and a course of medicine.
